The libraries diagnostic enables to discover that 67% of university libraries provide digital books through signature in e-books database, as well as show signed databases, content and languages offered, geographical distribution, means of access, digital accessibility in websites and user support. The online questionnaire and the structured interviews allowed increasing the understanding about the perception of professors concerning digital books’ use in academic context. This research concludes that reconfigurations in society, including universities, libraries and classrooms, also lead to changes in book format and in the way to read; in other words, promoting the digital reading culture. It shows that digital and physical book will coexist; therefore, these transformations require adaptations and specific skills development for coexistence in cyberculture. These skills are need to all people involved in the cybercultural context, but in this research we highlighted the importance of professors and librarians be inserted and participative in this informational flow, in order to become the digital book on something familiar and natural in the academic context.
