Os Mbyá-Guarani e as ruínas de São Miguel das Missões: memória e tangibilidade

Abstract

A presente dissertação versa sobre o processo de Inventário e Registro das ruínas de São Miguel das Missões, coordenado pelo Instituto do Patrimônio Histórico e Artístico Nacional (IPHAN) e alguns órgãos conveniados, e se ocupa, especificamente, do primeiro processo de Registro dessa natureza ocorrido no estado do Rio Grande do Sul que, a partir da aplicação do Inventário Nacional de Referências Culturais (INRC Comunidade Mbyá-Guarani), conferiu aos guarani no dia 4 de dezembro de 2014, o Registro das Ruínas de São Miguel – por eles denominado de Tava – que acaba por reconhecer, legalmente, a presença e o protagonismo guarani na região. Para a realização do presente estudo, utilizou-se de uma etnografia de documentos e textos que se ocupam da questão com vistas a se buscar perceber o modo como a noção de patrimônio, conceito até então inexistente entre os guarani, adquiriu tangibilidade e conotação de luta política e de reinvindicação de seus direitos sobre as ruínas de São Miguel. Neste sentido, os resultados do estudo apontam para um avanço em termos de políticas relacionadas ao patrimônio guarani; entre eles, um conjunto de ações de salvaguarda já realizadas e, em especial, no que se refere à formação técnica de lideranças e membros da comunidade guarani para atuação junto à recém reconhecida Tava, os quais trazem consigo um outro lado da história até então contada apenas pelos nãoíndios.

This present work discuss about the development process of the Inventary and Record of the Ruins of St. Miguel, that was conducted mainly by the Institute of Patrimônio Histórico e Artístico Nacional (IPHAN) in colaboration with some others Institution. The main purpose was by the first time recognize of records of the MbyáGuarani comunity in Rio Grande do Sul, brazilian state, through the application of the National Cultural References Inventory (INRC Mbyá-Guarani comunity), which culminated with a national law, aproved in 4th December 2014, that legally recognize the rights and high importance of the Guarani comunity in the Ruins of St. Miguel, denominated by them, as Tava region. To development this study, the approach was based in the ethnography of documents and texts concerned in order to seek realize how the concept of heritage, that previously none exists among the Guarani, acquired tangibility and political struggle connotation of reivindication of their rights on the Ruins of St. Miguel. In this sense, the results of this study point out to an improvement in terms of policies related to Guarani heritage and, a set of protective actions already taken, also, with regard to the technical training of leaders and members of the Guarani community to a good performance in the newly recognized Tava region, which bring with them another side of the story so far counted only by non-indians.
