Quando tocam os tambores: saberes e práticas nas tradições Moçambicanas

Abstract

This paper aims to retrieve a little the culture patrimony of the mozambican people: the learnings and practices in tradition, its production and transmission. Applying for Bosi’s concept of memory the author makes an analysis of the letters, photographs and of the four living years of remembrance-memory in which he worked as a lassalian missionaire in the education of Beira and Mangunde (2003-2006), Central region of the African southeast country. Using the authors: Hampêtá Bâ, Couto, Cezerilo, Bhabha, Oliveira, Lopes and others, dialogues with culture, with the identity and with the Mozambican traditions of the Sofala Province passing by their cultural demonstration, idea of person and African time, familiar and social organization, the religion and rites of passage. Throughout the research the drums are used as universal language to make a rensom of the memory on account of the drums are being present in all moments and situations of life, in rites and in ceremonies. The investigation highlights that the educative extent of the learnings and practices are in the daily speaking, headlining the elder wisdom and the ancestors presence in the production and transmission.
