O presente estudo tem por objetivo verificar a relação entre som e memória dentro do âmbito
doméstico de uma cozinha. Partindo do pressuposto de que os sons são signos capazes de
transportar em si uma gama de informações físicas e psíquicas a respeito dos agentes e meios
que os produzem - e, por isso, comunicam - a pesquisa investiga os significados das memórias
evocadas a partir dos sinais acústicos produzidos no seio de uma cultura alimentar familiar.
Visando enriquecer o olhar analítico e viabilizar abordagens mais abrangentes dos dados, o
estudo buscou suas bases teóricas em diferentes campos de pesquisa, percorrendo, assim,
reflexões e fundamentos de autores como Roland Barthes, Luce Giard, Gilles Deleuze,
Murray Schafer, Massimo Montanari, Walter Benjamin, Marcel Proust, Anne Muxel, entre
outros. O objeto de investigação é delimitado por um recorte geracional da família Lunkes, a
partir, mais precisamente, de depoimentos memoriais de descendentes de Aloysio Jacob
Lunkes (1909-1989), um integrante da quarta geração desta linhagem de imigrantes alemães
no Brasil. O estudo pretende, desta forma, contribuir para o entendimento dos sons de uma
cozinha como signos capazes de desencadear memórias subjetivas.
This research aims at investigating the relationship between sound and memory centering on a
kitchen setting of a household. Assuming that sounds can configure themselves as signs that
are able to convey a whole gamut of physical and psychological meanings vis-à-vis the very
agents and means that produce them – and for this reason, assign special meanings to these
sounds – this paper delves into the expressions of the memory recalls that are summoned up
when these sounds are produced in the realm of a family-oriented food culture. The study´s
theoretical framework has drawn from different research fields, thus weaving reflections and
principles from authors such as Roland Barthes, Luce Giard, Gilles Deleuze, Murray Schafer,
Massimo Montanari, Walter Benjamin, Marcel Proust, Anne Muxel, among others. The object
of investigation is framed within a specific generational cutoff in the Lunkes family. More
precisely, it is made up of testimonials collected from descendants of Aloysio Jacob Lunkes
(1909-1989), a fourth-generation German-immigrant family member. In other words, this
study hopes to contribute to the understanding of the soundscape of a kitchen as signals
capable to unleash subjective memories.
